When I joined the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2012, I quickly got in touch with physics professor Elmo Alves. He was already very familiar with my Wikipedia work, and was impressed with the rest of my skills and previous knowledge of many esoteric physics demonstrations.
I joined him in his ongoing Physics Demonstration Lab project, and offered to create a new, custom-tailored website for organizing and promoting their demonstrations, as well as to help creating new experiments and training new students.

Front page of the Physics Demonstration Lab website. The entire website was custom-made and tailored for the specific needs of this project. The website's content managing system includes an inventory and reservation system which allows teachers to browse and select which demonstrations they wish to borrow for their classes. The students then prepare these demonstrations and take them to the classroom at the requested time, and return them to the lab once the class is over.
Thanks to our efforts and the features of the website, today the experiments are used daily by the teachers at our university in their classes. The lab has also grown to accommodate and train many dozens of students every year. For many students, the lab is their first contact with electronics, programming, use of scientific instruments and advanced physics topics and ideas. The lab is undeniably an invaluable resource in our physics department.
It is very rewarding to have been part of this great project!
